Timing Information

We have secured the use of RaceAhead to supply our timing for the Ride the Route.
All details of the timing chips and location on the bike are supplied on the website and with the chips on collection.
If chips are lost please note these will be charged to you at £50, so please don’t lose them.
There will be a timing mat at the start and the final mat will be on the track at Aldersley Stadium finish line.

WE APOLOGISE TO ALL RIDERS WHO WERE HOPING TO SET RECORD TIMES ON THE CLIMB OF ANKERDINE HILL. DUE TO POLICE CONCERNS WE HAVE HAD TO WITHDRAW THIS TIMED SECTION, SORRY.

Immediately after the finish you will asked to go and have the chip removed in the small tented area just after the finish.
Results will be available at the finish in 1 hour intervals and on the website after the event.

Transport Information

All riders will be allowed to send 1 small bag (about the size of hand baggage for a UK flight) on the transport to Wolverhampton. Baggage can be reclaimed in the designated changing room within the Stadium, please look for the signs.

All riders who have booked return coach and bike trips can also put a bike bag or box on the truck going to Wolverhampton for cycle return travel.

Please note that currently we are only running 1 coach back to Worcester and this will leave at 5.00pm. We appreciate that some riders may have a little wait until everyone is on board, but lack of bookings means the coach company can only operate this service.
Should numbers increase we then will run an earlier coach to reduce waiting times.
Please note that the Stadium has excellent facilities with hot showers and excellent cafeteria and bar.
The journey time back to Worcester will be kept to a minimum, and we hope this arrangement doesn’t cause too much disruption.
The bike transport will escort the coach to arrive at the same time back at the Racecourse.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL YOUR BAGS ARE LABELLED WITH YOUR RIDE NUMBER AND NAME THANKS. Please leave all bike numbers on the bikes for easy identification. Labels will be available at signing on.

Course Routing Information

The route is available to download as a map from the web site and description sheets will be available at signing on.

Due to an extended road closure we have had to amend the previously advertised route to avoid this closure. The new route only adds 3.7miles to the route.

An updated route will be posted on the website within the next few days.

Please note the complete route is fully arrowed, on the following basis:

Each turn or major corner or junction will have arrows situated before the maneuver, on the point of turn, plus a confirmation within 200m after the turn.

PLEASE FAMILARISE YOURSELVES WITH THESE SIGNS, EXAMPLES ARE IN YOUR GOODY BAGS AND DISPLAYED AT THE START IN WORCESTER RACECOURSE.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A SPORTIVE AND THE ONUS REMAINS WITH THE RIDER TO STAY ON COURSE.

Extra warning signs will be situated en route to display potential danger points.

Feed stations will have a 1 kilo and 500m to go information signs.
The major climbs will also be named for information.
Distance count down signs will also be located at ¼, ½ and ¾ distance.

There will be static and motorcycle marshals situated to help in dangerous areas, please follow their instructions when required, we aim to make the event as safe as possible and any rider found breaking the rules of the road as they down in the Highway Code will be immediately eliminated from the ride and their timing chip removed.

Start times are from 08.30am until 09.15am and the timing will close at Wolverhampton Aldersley Stadium at 5.00pm. Unfortunately we will have to instigate elimination zones to meet our deadlines, these will be as generous as possible, and will be published at the start in Worcester.
We will operate a broom wagon for mechanical and eliminated riders, but don’t plan to use it. There will be emergency telephone numbers for all staff again available in your goody bag, PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THESE.

Feed Stations

We will be having 3 feed points en route situated at 26 miles, 50 miles and 71 miles these will be marked at 1 kilo and 500m to go.
We will, courtesy of our sponsor HIGH5, supply performance drinks, fruit, and bars and of course water, at each point.
There are also several shops open throughout the route should you require other provisions we hope to have these marked on a map at the start when we have confirmed their opening times over the bank holiday.
